Barbara Rackley

Barbara Jean Rackley, 81, of Brevard, passed away on February 4, 2026 at Mission Hospital. Born in Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lola Mae Lowery. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Robert Lee Rackley and her brother, Ralph Mosely.

A member of Midway Bible Baptist Church, she enjoyed canning, gardening and cooking for her family, and sewing and fishing. She had a great love of animals, especially hummingbirds. She was especially committed to her family, her husband and her children.

Her loving survivors include her daughter, Alisa Jewel Rackley, and her sons, Robert Floyd Rackley (Tanya) and John Anders (Dawn); granddaughter, Makenna Grace Rackley and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Midway Bible Church, with interment to follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
