Carl Michael Owen

Carl Michael Owen, 81, of Brevard, NC passed away peacefully February 13, 2025.

He was a son of the late Harry Paxton and Louise Norton Owen. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Pete Owen.

A native of Transylvania County Mr. Owen graduated in 1962 from Rosman High School. He worked for Olin and late Dupont before retiring.

Spending time with his family was very special to him. He and Mavis loved to travel and took many trips out West, visited Tennessee and Cades Cove. He loved to hunt and spend time in his garden. Carl attended Calvary Baptist Mission Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mavis Shipman Owen, two sons: Joel and Jeffrey Owen, both of Brevard, NC, three grandchildren, Wyatt, Tyler, and Jessica Owen, and several nieces and nephews and a special cousin, Nathan Norton.

A Memorial service for Mr. Owen will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in the Chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM with Rev. Allen Aiken officiating. Burial will be private.
