Evia Carolyn Cooper

Evia Carolyn Cooper, 81, of Balsam Grove, passed away on April 9, 2025. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Omi Eubanks. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Cooper; her daughter Missy Cooper, siblings: Ralph, William, Mack, Hovie, Lee and Ettier; granddaughter Sandra McCall and son-in-law Daniel Owen.

Born and raised in Transylvania County, she was either an aunt or “Granny” to just about everyone. She had her quirky ways, but she was a wonderful cook and a master story-teller, and loved arguing with her great-grandson Charlie. She enjoyed gardening and playing games and always had a pet or two with her.

Her loving survivors include her daughter, Connie Cooper; grandchildren: Melanie Morgan (Jericho Jones) and Katie Owen; great-grandchildren Jesse Jones, Chyanne Jones and Charlie Jones.

Arrangements for her graveside service will be announced at a later date.
