Frances Shipman

Frances Evelyn Shipman, 73, of Pisgah Forest, NC died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Transylvania Regional Hospital.
Evelyn was born October 22, 1939 in Transylvania County to the late Harry McBride and Frances Ruby Rogers. Evelyn was a member of Calvary Baptist church, where she served faithfully for many years. She loved to sing in the choir and worship her Lord. Evelyn was a member of Disaster Relief of the North Carolina and a supporter of the Broyhill Children's Home and various other charities and organizations Evelyn loved to bowl and was a very giving lady to all she met. She will be greatly missed by her smile and the twinkle in her eye.
Evelyn was faithfully married to Harold Dale Shipman for 51 years, she is survived by her daughters; Michele Shipman of Etowah, NC, and Dale Merrill and her husband Alex of Brevard, NC, one son; Jefferey Shipman of Pisgah Forest, NC, two grandhildren; Blake Merrill and Bailey Merrill, one brother; Tommy McBride and his wife Melba of Brevard, NC, two sisters; Ann Golden and her husband Charles of Brevard, NC and Linda Leslie and her husband Alvin of Brevard, NC.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Tuesday March, 26, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be sent to the Broyhills Children's Home,111 Sneed Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
