Gerald (Jerry) Michael Baggish passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, at the Elizabeth house in Flat Rock, N.C. He was 86 years old.
Jerry was born on April 14, 1939, in Hartford, CT. After serving in the U.S. Army and finishing college, he moved to Los Angeles to chase the California dream and pursue a career as a CPA. He moved to Greensboro, N.C. in 1974 with his first wife, Linda, and their two young sons. In the early 90’s Jerry saw an opportunity to work with a friend and colleague in the mountains of North Carolina, so he made the permanent move to Hendersonville, N.C. In 1994, Jerry married Teresa (Terré) Gamble of Pleasant Garden, N.C. Jerry and Terré made a life together in the mountains, participating for many years in the Henderson County Mounted Patrol and the American Legion.
Quick with a joke, Jerry is remembered by his friends and family as someone who loved to make those around him laugh. He would often help friends and family in need.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Peter Baggish and Edith Soroko Goldstein, his sister Phyllis and brother Danny. Survivors include his loving wife, Terré Baggish of Hendersonville, his ex-wife Linda Baggish of Pittsboro; his brother-in-law Charles Gamble, III and wife Deborah; children Lisa Caso and husband Jim of Driftwood, TX. Jeremy Baggish and wife Katherine of Durham, Alan Baggish of Vancouver, B.C., Peter Baggish and wife Jessica of Chapel Hill, grandchildren, Oscar, Mariam, Adeline, Julius, and Aaron; nieces and nephews Linda Hill, David Hill, Amy Herman, Craig Saperstein, Leigha Jordan, Leslie Landreth, and Charles Gamlble, IV.
