Gilles Geierman

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gilles H. Geierman on October 1, 2025 at the age of 89. He was born on July 22, 1936 to the late Dorothy Hoffman and the late Herman Geierman in Monroe, Michigan. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Anna M. Cajka.

He is survived by his three children Deborah F. Hayes of Dixon, CA (daughter); Barry C. Geierman of Sacramento, C.A. (son); and Kimberly A. Melton (daughter) of Brevard, NC.

Gil owned and operated The Valley Gift Shop located in Sapphire, NC for over 12 years. He enjoyed meeting new people, gardening (especially his roses), photography, collecting antique cut glass and was a former member of Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus. He was also a huge fan of the Detroit Lions Football team.

He will be remembered for his generous spirit, laughter, and love for his family.
