Gwendolyn McCall Ashe



Balsam Grove- Gwendolyn McCall Ashe, 66, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at John F. Keever Solace Center, Asheville, NC on what would have been her 46th  wedding anniversary.



A native of Jackson County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Columbus McCall and Sally Owen McCall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Ray Ashe who died in 2000 and a brother-in-law; Charles Burgess who died in 2002.



She was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church.  She loved researching genealogy, traveling and listening to blue grass and country music.



She is survived by her daughter; Kimberley Ashe of Balsam Grove, NC, one brother; James "Jimmy" Ashe and wife Sandra of Brevard, NC, one sister; Carolyn Burgess of Brevard, NC, two grandchildren; Jeremy Michael Ashe and Kyndra Hope Ashe both of Balsam Grove, NC, two great grandchildren; Kentley Trace Wilmot of Brevard, NC and

Aubree Skye Ashe of Hendersonville, NC, one great grand nephew; Logan Burgess, several  nieces and nephews and a special friend; Karen Galloway of Brevard, NC.



A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 2, 2012 at Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brevard Cancer Center, 70 Neely Road, Brevard, NC  28712.
