Jerry Frederick Smith

Jerry Frederick Smith, 71, of Penrose, passed away on September 4, 2025. A Transylvania County native, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Smith and the late Helen Davidson Morrison. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers Mickey Smith, Stanley Smith and Ernie Smith.

Jerry was a devoted and hard worker for many years at TVS, Olin/Ecusta and Hawg Wild as well as serving as the team manager for the Brevard Blue Devils. An avid fan of Brevard High School Football, he rarely missed a game with his good buddy Terrance Farmer.

We will always remember his big smile and him saying “Am I right?” and “One time before…”

Jerry's loving survivors include his brother, Ira Smith; sister-in-law Suzanne Smith; niece Angie Smith; nephews Mitchell Smith (Sharon), Sean Smith (Melissa) and Jason Smith (Christy); 7 great-nephews and 2 great-nieces.

Graveside services for Jerry Smith will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Brevard High School Football team in Jerry’s honor.
