Brevard - Kay Cox Hunter, 66, passed away peacefully in her home Sunday, August 19, 2012.



She was a daughter of Letha Howard Cox and the late Rev. John A. Cox.  She was preceded in death by two brothers; John A. Cox, Jr. and Charles Harold Cox.



In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter; Angie Hunter Byrd and husband David of Lincolnton, NC, two sisters; Barbara O'Neal and husband A.V., of Marion, VA, and Gail Cox Edmonds and husband Doug of Brevard, NC, one brother; Milford C. Cox of Wilmington, NC, two grandsons; Christian and Matthew Byrd, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and several devoted friends who loved and assisted her throughout the years.



A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Judy Jennings officiating.



The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM.
