Landon Brank Deal

Landon Brank Deal, 87, of Brevard, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025. A native of Madison County, NC, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Deal. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ramsey Deal; and their son, Michael Landon Deal.

Originally hired as a Chemistry teacher at Brevard High School, he later became Athletic Director and Principal before becoming the Assistant Superintendent of Transylvania County Schools. He was passionate about education and was dedicated to his work in the Transylvania County School System. He was a fixture at Brevard High School football games and Brevard High School track meets.

He is survived by his son, Eric Deal, of Brevard as well as the faithful caregivers at The Oaks of Brevard.

Graveside Services for Landon Deal will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, October 6, 2025 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest. The family will receive friends at Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
