Louise Young Gilstrap

Brevard - Louise Young Gilstrap, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 11, 2009 at Transylvania Regional Hospital.
A native of Spencer, NC, she was the daughter of the late Gray Marshall Young and Maude Irby Young.
Mrs. Gilstrap was retired from Olin Corp. and also was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brevard where she was in involved in the Day Nursery. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Transylvania Regional Hospital Auxiliary.
She was a devoted and loving mother of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed crafts and sewing, and family tailgating and football at Clemson University.
Surviving are her husband, Ernest Gaines Gilstrap; daughter, Constance Truesdail of Easley, SC; sons, David G. Gilstrap of Denver, NC, and C. Logan Gilstrap of Charleston, SC; sister, Anna Osborne of Columbia, SC; brother, William Young of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren, Michael Gilstrap, Christine Truesdail, Matthew Gilstrap, Stephanie Truesdail, and Katie Gilstrap; five great grandchildren.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church of Brevard with the Rev. Mike Jordan, Dr. Keith Parker, and Rev. Arnold Beard officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday at Moore Funeral Home.
