Louise Norton Owen

Brevard - Louise Norton Owen, 92, of Brevard, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Transylvania Regional Hospital after a short illness.

A native of Transylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Nathan Norton and Edith Rogers Norton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Owen, one son; Pete Owen, two brothers; Taylor and Lee Norton, three sisters; Grace Norton, Essie Galloway and Martha Coeman.

She enjoyed working with the public and was employed by the A&P grocery store in Brevard for many years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Louise is survived by one son; Michael Owen and wife Mavis of Brevard, NC, a twin sister; Ann Pierce of Gainesville, GA, sister; Mildred Brittian of Columbia, SC, two grandsons; Joel Owen and Jeff Owen and wife Renee both of Brevard, NC, two great grandsons; Wyatt and Tyler Owen, two sister-in-laws; Mae Owen and Margaret Norton both of Brevard, NC and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Gillespie-Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Allen Aiken officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM- 1:45 PM at the funeral home.
