Margaret Ann Louise Schiller Miller

Margaret Miller died peacefully at her home in Brevard, NC on Sunday, March 10, 2013. A longtime resident of Brevard, she is survived by her son; Craig W. Miller, who was her loving caretaker for the last 30 years, her daughter; Pax Lattimore of Raleigh, NC and three grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William D. Miller, and a sister Eleanor West of Long Island, NY.

Born in Manhattan, New York to Richard and Johanna Kepler Schiller she was the first of three daughters. Raised in New York, she was sent with her sisters to live in Stuttgart, Germany just before the outbreak of World War II. She attended the University of Leipzig. After the war, she and her sisters returned to Port Washington, NY on the SS Bremen. She worked various jobs, as a telephone operator, butcher shop accountant and then was employed by Pan American Airways as a stewardess because she could speak several languages.

She met and married William Miller, a flight engineer with Pan American and had two children, Craig W. Miller and Pax M. Lattimore. She lived with her family in London, England, Hicksville, New York, Munich, Germany, Chicago, Illinois and settled in Brevard, NC. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, Dachshunds and reading.

In fulfillment of her wishes, she will be cremated and interred with her husband in Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh, NC.
