Brevard - Melvin Shipman, 73, of Brevard, NC died Friday, December 21, 2012.



He was a son of the late Thomas Glenn Shipman and Ethel Waters Shipman. He was a veteran of the US Navy and was employed at Ecusta for over 40 years.



He is survived by his son; Keith Shipman of Brevard, NC, one granddaughter; Julie Shipman, three sisters; Mavis S. Owen of Brevard, NC, Martha S. Owen of Brevard, NC and Cathy S. McCall of Arden, NC one brother; Harlin Shipman of Brevard, NC, numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend and caregiver, Carolyn Shipman.



A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Cathey's Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Ann Self officiating.
