Sandra George Shelko

Sandra George Shelko, 79, of Hendersonville, passed away on January 3, 2025 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC. Born in Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Leland and Ada McCrary George. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Shelko.

A retired Certified Nursing Assistant with over 40 years of helping patients and friends, she was active in church her entire life, playing the piano for many years. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and she enjoyed camping, whether in the backyard or at her favorite place, Huntington Beach. She greatly enjoyed the outdoors and gardening as well as baking and cooking. Her greatest joy and loves were her family. 

Her loving survivors included her children: Lisa Souther (Joel), Jason Quinn (Nora) and Michelle Quinn; her grandchildren: Christopher Quinn, Mitchell Souther, Bailey Quinn, Cayden Quinn, McKenzie Souther and Jase Quinn; and her sister, Martha Pace.

Graveside services for Sandy Shelko will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Blue Ridge Gardens of memory in Pisgah Forest with Rev. Joe Lund officiating.
