Sheila Yevonne Swancara

Sheila Yevonne Swancara, 88, of Brevard NC died Tuesday, February 18, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Ben Marshall and Louise Yevonne Sedgwick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John Swancara who died in 2021, her brother: Benny Sedgwick; her son David Swancara and her daughter-in-law Lourdes Swancara.

She loved and supported her husband as they moved from California to Florida to North Carolina and back to California. They finally moved back to their beloved Brevard, NC to retire.

She loved raising her family and enjoyed spending all the time she could with them. She loved spending time with all her friends of which she had many! She was an avid reader, bird watcher and loved her cats and traveling the world with her husband.

Sheila is survived by her son John Swancara and daughter in law Maria Swancara of Lincoln, Nebraska; Grandchildren Christopher Swancara, Matt and Paul Swancara and granddaughter-in-law Allen Swancara, a great grandson Luke Swancara and a niece Sharon Swancara.

A Memorial Service and reception for Sheila Swancara will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday March 1, 2025, at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Brevard, NC.
