Susan Shook Roberts

Susan Shook Roberts, age 66, of Hendersonville, passed away on January 24th, 2025. She was born to Vance Furman and Bonnie Beatrice Shook (Hall). Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard “Rick” Roberts; her parents; a niece; and several siblings.

She is survived by her sister Sharon Shook, her brother Nathan Shook, and her three children: Jennifer Eyman and husband Doug of Springfield, MO, Kayla Hill and husband Zach of Hendersonville, NC, and Levi Roberts of Charlotte, NC; Susan also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Jordan, JaCeline, Bryson, Skylar, McKenzie, Raegan, Isaac, and Raylan, as well as her great-grandchildren, Hank and Aaron Eyman.

A true lover of family and the outdoors, Susan found joy in spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren. Whether it was sharing a quiet day in nature, enjoying a family picnic, tubing, or relaxing at the beach, she embraced every moment. Susan had a special place in her heart for crossword puzzles and word search books, often seen with one in hand as she unwound after a busy day.

She had a passion for simple pleasures—peach milkshakes, watching baseball (especially cheering on the Braves), and listening to rain from a thunderstorm, or the quiet beauty of a big fluffy snowfall. But her greatest joy came from her time with her grandchildren, especially when they gathered for “nail day” or simply to be together.

Susan was the “fun” aunt, the one everyone gravitated to for her warmth, kindness, and infectious spirit. Her presence was a blessing to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Though Susan is no longer with us, the love she shared and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.

Services will be held from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Pisgah Forest with food and fellowship following the service.
