A Funeral Mass for Thomas “Tom” Fortener will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brevard on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Tom and his wife, Eileen, retired to Pisgah Forest in 2000, where they became active members of the Brevard community. Tom generously gave his time through volunteer service with Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and DuPont Forest, among others.
Inurnment will take place later that day at 1:00 p.m. at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
