Whitfield Jack, Jr.

December 23, 1936 — December 5, 2025

Brevard

Whitfield Jack, Jr., 88, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC. Whitfield, affectionately called "Whit", was also known as the "Jewelry Genius of Key West". He was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, on December 23, 1936, to the late Whitfield Jack, Sr., and Frances Rand Jack. After receiving his B.A. in English Literature from Washington and Lee University, he started his career in advertising working in New York City for Ogilvy and Mather agency writing advertising copy. However, after a few years Whit started a new career in Key West creating and manufacturing unique sea life and tropical jewelry, some in minute scale and microscopic detail. Whit was an avid expert windsurfer and he spent all of his leisure time in the Key West ocean breezes. After fifty years and several accidents he was unable to continue this lifestyle and that is when he found his new home in Brevard. His quick 'wit' and humor made friends throughout the community. Whit loved his dogs and he raised them as if they were his children.

Whit was born and bred in Louisiana and was raised in Shreveport. He had deep roots and pride in his Louisiana heritage. He is survived by his two brothers, Rand Jack of Bellingham, Washington, and Robert Jack of Menlo Park, California.

Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations is honored to be caring for the Whitfield family.
