Wilburn Preston "Bud" Garren

Wilburn Preston “Bud” Garren, Jr., 82, of Brevard, passed away on May 9, 2025. Born and raised in Asheville, NC, he was the son of the late William P. and Mabel McHone Garren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death his daughter, Dorothy Raymer; and his sisters: Bessie Jane Pruett, Helen JoAnn Pruitt and Shelia Ruth Ledford.

Retired from the Asheville Water Department after 25+ years of service, Bud enjoyed walking the streets in downtown Asheville with his old friends except when he was watching old westerns on television.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; grandson Tyler Cole; sister Cheryl Laws, his brother Gary Garren and several nieces and nephews.

Service arrangements will be announced at a later date.
